Each Tuesday in July and August at 10 am the Haliburton Forest is offering free guided tours of the haliburton Sculture Forest.

Please wear comfortable shoes!
The Tours start at 10 am and last about 1-11/2 Hours.

Square dancing is the perfect cottage activity for people of all ages. Don’t worry, Linda and Ernie will run a clinic for new dancers so you and your family and guests can come out and learn all you need to know to enjoy a night of square dancing.

Directions: At Carnarvan (118 & 35), go north 4 km to North Shore Rd. Turn east - 1/2km to hall

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. You are welcomed to join a fascinating evening under the stars. Haliburton Forest Staff will lead you through the on-site, dark sky observatory to view and learn about the night sky. The outdoor program is help on clear nights. In case of cloudy nights, an exciting indoor, planetarium program awaits. Pre-registration is required.

Every Thursday night this summer experience the wonders of the howling wolf.

This is a unique opportunity that will allow you to hear there song and learn about their history. The evening starts with a presentation about wolves, dispelling some of the many myths surrounding the elusive creatures. The program then ends with a wolf howl.

Wildlife CSI: Welcome to the world of Wildlife Forensics! This family oriented program held in the Haliburton Highlands, is filled with hands on activities which will familiarize participants with various aspects of wildlife identification using DNA, tracks, furs, skulls and much more! Professionals in the field of Wildlife Forensics will share their knowledge and experiences to help you become the expert. Participants will become the investigators, examining clues and following evidence to determine “who done it” in a wildlife crime scene. Conservation Officers will lead an exciting K-9 Unit demonstration, showing how dogs help solve wildlife crimes. (more…)
