This family oriented program held in the Haliburton Highlands, is filled with hands on activities which will familiarize participants with various aspects of wildlife identification using DNA, tracks, furs, skulls and much more! Professionals in the field of Wildlife Forensics will share their knowledge and experiences to help you become the expert. Participants will become the investigators, examining clues and following evidence to determine “who done it” in a wildlife crime scene. Conservation Officers will lead an exciting K-9 Unit demonstration, showing how dogs help solve wildlife crimes.

Wednesday July 12th, 2006 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm (Pre-Registration Required)

Gooderham Community Centre, Community Centre Rd, just south of

Gooderham off of County Rd 507. Keep left on Community Centre Rd.

Partners: Natural Resources DNA Profiling and Forensic Centre, MNR Minden and Canine Unit, Municipality of Highlands East

Cost: Adults: $15.00 Children: $8.00 Family: $30.00 (Family – 2 adults and 2 children under 16, $5 per additional child)

  • Pre-registration is encouraged as space is limited
  • Payment by cash or cheque only please
  • Programs run rain or shine – come prepared

    • Discovery Day Programs are limited to 30 participants and are best suited to adults and children over 7 years of age, but all are welcome.
