Akané Log Home B&B in the Haliburton Highlands will provide you with accommodations that will soothe and refresh your soul. Located in a peaceful and woodland setting near the Village of Haliburton and in the “Geocaching Centre of the World“, your hosts Mieko and Gary welcome you to this beautiful and tastefully decorated bed and breakfast.
Get a taste of adventure with the numerous activities offered in the area. Geocaching, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, horse back riding, golfing or fishing in the summer to downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter. These are a few of the many possibilities. Shopping for antiques, touring art studios to just reading and relaxing during any part of the year are other options. There are endless possibilities!
In the mornings, Mieko and Gary will entice you with a delicious home-cooked breakfast made from the following selection of eggs, pancakes, waffles, freshly baked bread, muffins, banana loaf, seasonal fruits, juice and coffee or tea. Our breakfasts are made to get your day started right!
We want your stay at the Akané Log Home Bed and Breakfast to be relaxing and comfortable for you, so we offer:
- Clean, comfortable air conditioned bedrooms with bathrooms that have a claw foot bathtub with a handheld shower, soaker tub and shower, or shower only.
- Westin Hotel’s “Heavenly Bed” in each bedroom.
- Deck with a screened gazebo and patio seating for reading and lounging.
- Hot tub (Seasonal – Please bring a beach towel).
- Indoor lounge area with sofas, a television and DVD player for movies.

| From Haliburton: 15 minutes east of Haliburton 1. From Hwy 118 look for Trappers Trail (just past Loon Lake as you go east). Turn left onto Trappers Trail. 2. Stay on Trappers Trail for about 3 Km. Stay to the right as the road turns sharply, go up a steep hill and look for the Wampum Road sign (after Lookout Rd). 3.
